Saving the World... One Game at a Time

Yar, so, I can only donate so much money... BUT I can always donate time I'm usually wasting ANYWAY!

Through Facebook I have been able to (supposedly) plant trees, feed hungry, and stuff teddy bears :P

Play a game, earn "Lunch Money", "donate" to different things. I'm working on Cancer, then moving on. However my Child Abuse is high because you can invite other people to donate with you, and you GET the $L they want you to be able to donate.

*Whether these are the trees they actually plant, I don't know. You are given random "seeds."
"Plant a virtual tree and give seeds to your friends! For each tree grown to adulthood, we will plant a real tree in a deforested area of the world. 613,300 trees have already been grown to adulthood! "
In this game, you plant a tree, water other peoples' trees, and for each tree grown to full height (about 3-4 waters) they plant a Real Tree.

I think they do the Planting trees thing because it's cheaper than giving to cancer, O_o or something.

So... StarTrek.Com has released a Starfleet Academy Diploma.  I wanted to see if the design was supported by canon (because I'm a huge fact-check nerd) and in my quest collected what I think to be all the diploma designs officially used on the show. De Groote Museum

 De Groote Museum (The Great Museum) is centered around the concept that everything is connected . It's part of the Artis Royal Zoo complex (like Micropia) but has a separate entrance and fee (included in the Museum Card).  The museum was closed for 75 years (not a typo!) and reopened in 2022. It used to be the  'Main Building' or 'Zoological Museum' for Artis. You can read more about it's scientific use at their website ! ARTIS honorary member and professor of Anatomy Willem Vrolik (1801-1863) gave lectures on the autopsies he performed on animals that had died in the zoo. He published the very first scientific description of various animal species. After the autopsy, the animals were prepared and ended up in the museum.
